bingham’s light backpack
Here’s a story of rewarding agility, proving you belong, making your own luck.
Morning of the Machu Picchu trip, the hotel phone rings. Mr. Padre we’ve had to change your return train tonight. You’ve got an involuntary upgrade to the Hiram Bingham train. After an unbelievable day, (where we deftly dodged a few bullets) board the train. I hadn’t been a lot of trains, but this looks pretty sweet.
What’s for dinner? Duck? I love to chase them now I get to eat them. I am a Princesa, and I BELONG.
Hiram Bingham is the Peruvian ‘Orient Express.’ Theorectically I wasn’t supposed to get into Sacred City. Theorectically we were supposed to be on Peru Rail returning from Machu Picchu.
’We have become ‘masters of crafty.’ Now some perceive our crafty a ‘dark art.’ Kinda, but we analyze a situation, identify the opportunities, and quickly develop a creative, well thought out plan and execute it.”
If that’s crafty, guile, make your own luck well sign me up for that.
We defined agile today Dad.
“Yup, helps if you have a light backpack.”
“How ironic we’re on the Hiram Bingham, quoting Ryan Bingham from ‘Up in the Air?’”
